Monster Menagerie 2

Anyone know when Monster Menagerie 2 is being released?

I haven't seen an official release date yet. I'm seeing retail outlets that say January or February, but I'd guess late March or early April.

Wizkids just posted a release date of January 2017, along with some box shots and a nice look at the Adventurer's Campsite case incentive mini.

http://wizkids.com/dd-icons-of-the-realms-monster-menagerie-ii

I've posted the set page, along with the first 10 minis from the box shots here: http://www.miniscollector.com/icons-realms/monster-menagerie-ii

Initial reactions?

The Campsite incentive makes me drool!

And the other figures nearly all seem very useful (I have a player who will squeal with delight over the Gold Dragon Sorcerer).

Just wish it wasn't so very close on the heels of Deadly Foes...I need time to save up again (especially with the holidays eating away at my precious miniature funds!).

Thanks for the find pecosmike. Those images are small but are certainly interesting and a good find! Welcome to the site and boards!

Drat!

This line, so far, has nothing I need...yet almost nothing I can't use!

Icons of the Realms started out with unsure footing, but, if this set's final quality equals (or exceeds) Storm King's, I think this line will nose ahead of Pathfinder Battles in my esteem.

Glad to contribute. Found some more today. Black pudding and a grick.

This might be a weekly thing from Neverwinter since the last tweet from them was last Tuesday.
This might also mean we will get a couple more images on Thursday from WizKids' twitter

Thanks! They're on the site now too.

It looks like the Black Pudding is made to fit a human-sized figure in the middle. That would be a really nice feature.

ahh...I was wondering about the odd "pose" the pudding had. (I was just the other day lamenting that a Black Pudding had never been done. :D )

Just found some new previews and added them to the site. Kobolds, Bugbears, Bullywug, Drow, Elf Fighter, and a Sea Hag!

Lots of rank-and-file types in this set so far.

I'm unsure about the style of the humanoids in this set, but there's no denying they cover a lot of standards. I have no need for most of this set (like that's ever stopped me!), but it's good that new collectors/gamers will have this handy assortment available.

WotC/WK seem to be stretching their wings with their new "one body, two variants" idea.

Hey Chris:
Is there any way that we could post the images right here instead of a link?

I love and need the black pudding. We have nothing for this yet!

Some new previews just posted to the MM2 page: Hippogriff, Planetar Angel and a second Mind Flayer. I've also updated images for the Beholder and the first Mind Flayer.

http://www.miniscollector.com/icons-realms/monster-menagerie-ii

I really like the Planetar, but the Beholder seems a bit depressed.

I like the new Beholder simply because of it's colors. Very different from others I have even from ones from the Beholders Collectors Set. I bought 4 sets of these! It does look a bit depressed though!

I agree. Even with the odd expression, this beholder is a lot more attractive to look at.

They're here!

Auggie's has about half the set up for sale on their site already (auggiesgamestore.com), including the case incentive.

Thanks for the "heads up" Brontoceratops. I'm heading there now to check them out! The beholder is already sold out at a $16.99 price! Wow!

Darn, the prices seem pretty steep right now. I'll wait and see for now I think.

I like a lot of these, but even the prices at Auggie's seem higher than usual. I was about to "pull the trigger" on a bunch, but then started to reconsider wondering if a case was the way to go. I have not bought a case in at least a couple of years so that would be a first I n quite sometime!

Yeah, Auggie's prices have been less of a savings over the last few sets.

And they have a very unreliable inventory. Even now, although they've had MM2 on the site all weekend, I have yet to see the uncommon Worg available.

And I still haven't found a single other merchant offering singles yet. I'm guessing Auggie got some early release boxes, or something.

(As a side comment, I note that Auggie started selling the Sea Hag at $6, dropped it to $5, and is now down to $4.29...which is still too much for a Sea Hag!)

The Sea Hag has now dropped to $3.29. A lot of the other minis have begun dropping in price, as well.

He must be balancing price based on supply and demand. I imagine it's hard to do after only a few cases, but if he ends up with a ton of sea hags and no one's buying, it only makes sense to drop the price.

I've met and bought from Auggie in the past. I'm sure he'll do what he can to price everything fairly.

Okay, all the figures are in. Lots of dragons. Lots of invisibles. Looks like a pretty decent set for basic troop-types.

What do you all think?

I just browsed, but I think I like the set. I'll take a closer look to give a full opinion, but I don't generally like dragon minis as there are just way too many at this point. I have yet to buy any although it's good to see that Auggies prices are coming down to a more reasonable price. I also don't collect invisible's.
