Large Premium Figures

Can anyone point to somewhere that WOTC talks about the actual size of the Dragons(Red, Blue, Green, Black, White) they recently released? Box refers to them as Adults, but the base is far too big. My thought is that the white ring under the base represents their actual size, and the bases are that size simply for support. For that matter how big is the Mammoth with the Frost Giant riding it, because that has a white ring under the base too.

Any thoughts?

It does look like the white ring is meant to be the size of the figure on a battlemap, or at the very least an alternate size in order to get more utility out of the mini. The mammoth is a perfect example, because the 5e mammoth is a huge creature and the ring is sized to a huge (3") base, but the figure itself is enormous and fills out every bit of the 8" base it's on. WizKids seems to be moving away from practical game pieces and more toward expensive and showy shelf statues. It's disappointing.
