Search of Creature Type

Hey Chris:
Is there a way or a possibility if not to add a mechanism where you can search your personal collection of minis for a certain creature type? If I wanted to search all undead in my collection am I able to? That would be a fantastic and very useful tool. I just started to slowly add my collection to your site. It will take some time, but in the end I think it wil be worth it especially if there were great search features for one's personal collection like I asked above.

Thanks,
John

You can search by creature type using tags, but you can't limit it to your own collection just yet. Once I get a little more free time for development, I'll add this in.

Can you explain what you mean by "using tags". If it means I can search your site for a certain creature type that would help as I could then refer to my collection to see what I had from the search. I appreciate the response and help.

Click the "Find a Figure" button at the top of the page to access the search features.

On the Find a Figure tab (http://www.miniscollector.com/minis/gallery), there's a field for "Tag" at the top of the screen. If you type "undead" into that field, for example, you'll get a listing of all the undead figures in the database. You can search for multiple tags at once. So, if you type in "elf, sword", you'll see all the elves with swords.

There are tags for creature type, armor, weapon, race, and so on. They make it a lot easier for search for things like "goblin" without having to get listings for hobgoblins and goblin dogs along with them.

Yep, that worked as you explained Chris and is certainly a useful tool. Thanks for sharing. However, it still doesn't help find a creature that you have in your own collection which you said you may work on when you get the time! I'm prompting you on with a Thanksgiving drumstick! Thanks for a great site.

I'll second this. I'd love to be able to have my collection tracked here and be able to search it just like you can search all available minis. That way I can quickly see what I have available and if I need to go out and buy more of a given guy.

Yes, yes this would be overwhelmingly awesome. The site is already awesome, but this would put us over the top!
